Flames rise from wood among a white cloth bundle placed on the bricks, with a copper vessel of liquid and a bowl of yellow flowers beside it. A standing figure in a saffron-orange garment is partly visible at the top, holding a long metal implement. Mango-yellow marigolds, banana bunches, orange fruit, rolled sticks and striped cloths decorate the surrounding ritual setup on a purple-and-pink cloth. No people are fully visible beyond the orange-clad figure, who is partly cropped.2019-01-05October 08 20172017-10-08September 14 20152015-09-14September 14 20152015-09-14 +1 copiesA homa fire burns in a dark wooden fire pit as a ladle pours a golden liquid. A hand holding a metal bowl and ladle is visible at upper left, draped in red cloth. Beside the fire, ornate silver kalasha pots and covered silver vessels, engraved with floral and figural designs, rest on a silver tray. The warm red and gold palette and rising flames dominate the frame. No person's face or full figure is visible, only the hands and red garment.2018-03-03A photograph of a homa fire pit built from white-painted brick, with a bed of dark wooden sticks and ash inside. Around the pit sit silver and brass vessels, a bowl of yellow liquid, small oil lamps and a silver ladle. Brass and silver ritual objects stand at the left, and the feet of two people in saffron-orange and white dhoti-style garments appear at the top edge, one holding a tray of white flowers. No face or head is visible, and no person can be identified.2006-10-21July 06 20152015-07-06A homa ritual at a brick fire pit filled with ash and offerings. A figure in orange robes with long swept-back grey hair and a forehead tilak sits cross-legged at the centre, hands raised in blessing gesture. Beside him a young man in an orange dhoti wears a purple shawl. A priest in orange and gold stands at right holding a brass lamp, and a man in orange at the lower right holds a ritual vessel. Behind them, people in white dhotis with gold borders and beaded necklaces assist, and a shelf holds small clay lamps and ritual objects. The scene is a Hindu fire ceremony.2015-09-14
