Close photograph of two craftsmen working on the ground soldering a copper sheet with a brass torch. A bare foot rests on the left, pliers with blue handles hold a copper wire, and a red-handled torch flame heats a copper piece resting on a brick. A metal bowl sits on the right, with a blurred stone or fabric in the background. No a person candidate is visible; only the hands and feet of workers appear.

Close-up photo of two craftsmen working on a copper sheet on the sandy ground. One man, seen from the knees down with bare feet, holds the copper piece steady with blue and red pliers, while the other man's hand directs a brass gas torch whose flame heats the copper. The copper is blackened and discoloured from heat, and a small metal bowl of white powder sits at the lower right. No deity, a person candidate or ritual setting is visible.

A close photograph of a metalworker brazing copper pieces with a brass torch flame. A copper tube is held in blue-handled pliers while the orange flame melts solder along a curved copper sheet with gold-coloured joins. Partial hands are visible at the lower right and a rough concrete floor lies beneath. No a person or other people are clearly visible, only hands.

Close-up photograph of a metalworker brazing or soldering a copper-coloured metal piece with a torch flame. A brass-tipped blowpipe directs a bright orange flame onto a thin rod held by blue-handled pliers, while the workpiece sits on a dusty ground surface. Gold-coloured brazing solder beads along the seams of the copper and brass vessel. Only a hand holding the pliers is visible at the edge of the frame, no faces shown. Photo shows metal craft work rather than a ritual, discourse or ashram scene.

A photograph of a cluttered floor in a thatched or palm-leaf roofed shed. A large rusted gas cylinder with brass valve and regulator lies on the concrete floor on the right. On the left are a wooden-handled hammer, a wooden tray holding small items including a cotton reel, a white toothbrush and packaged supplies, a sheet of gold-coloured metal foil, a piece of red cloth, a few bricks, a plastic bag, and split coconut shells in the upper right. No people are visible.

A dim, unfinished interior with woven bamboo walls and a concrete floor. Several large copper-coloured repoussé sheets lie scattered on the floor, carved with ornate figures, a crown-like headdress and decorative panels, apparently temple-metalwork pieces or statue fragments in progress. Nearby are a wooden plank, a brass-coloured tray, a plastic jug, a grey backpack with a cartoon print, a metal bowl, and clothes hanging from the wall. No people are visible.

A photograph of a metalworker using a handheld brass torch with a blue-orange flame to heat a small silver-coloured piece placed on a perforated copper disc resting on stacked bricks. A metal drum filled with grey charcoal ash stands at left, and a small metal cup sits on a brick block at right. Sections of a patterned orange and yellow cloth sleeve are visible on the worker's arm. The setting is a tiled floor with scattered coals.

A man in a checked white-and-grey short-sleeved shirt and orange dhoti with yellow border crouches on a paved courtyard, using a handheld gas torch with a blue-and-orange flame to heat a small metal dish set on a brick. Nearby stands a stacked brick hearth holding a metal bowl, a steel drum containing ash and charcoal, a plastic bucket, a blue tub with tools, and gas cylinders in the background. A red thread is tied on his wrist. The scene suggests metal melting or refining work.

A photograph of four men working on the floor of a bare, unfinished workshop with a corrugated and thatched ceiling. In the foreground a man in a pink-and-white checked shirt and white dhoti works on a reddish copper vessel, and beside him a man in a yellow-and-white striped sleeveless top and checked lungi strikes a metal piece with a hammer. A man in a grey-and-green checked shirt crouches at right chiselling a flat metal plate laid on a dark slab. Behind them a man in a black shirt bends over a large copper pot. Scattered iron nails, a hammer, a red-and-white plastic box, a small booklet, and burlap sacks lie on the concrete floor, with a red chair against the back wall.

Close-up photograph of a metalworker's hands using a gas torch with a brass nozzle to heat a blackened metal piece on a dusty ground. Blue-handled pliers grip the piece while the flame bursts from the torch. Specks of molten solder or metal are visible along the edges. No ritual setting, deity or a person is shown. The background is blurred earth and scattered gravel.
