A close photograph of a hand holding a brass blowtorch whose blue-orange flame is aimed at a small round copper disc with many perforations. The disc sits on a rough terracotta brick, and a small clear glass or crystal piece is set in its centre. Beside it is a metal pot of grey ash and charcoal, a second brick with a small dish, and a dark wood surface. One man, seen from the knees down with bare feet, holds the copper piece steady with blue and red pliers, while the other man's hand directs a brass gas torch whose flame heats the copper. The copper is blackened and discoloured from heat, and a small metal bowl of white powder sits at the lower right. No deity, a person candidate or ritual setting is visible.2011-10-22Close-up photograph of a metalworker brazing or soldering a copper-coloured metal piece with a torch flame.
