Close-up photo of two craftsmen working on a copper sheet on the sandy ground. One man, seen from the knees down with bare feet, holds the copper piece steady with blue and red pliers, while the other man's hand directs a brass gas torch whose flame heats the copper. The copper is blackened and discoloured from heat, and a small metal bowl of white powder sits at the lower right. No deity, a person candidate or ritual setting is visible.

Close photograph of two craftsmen working on the ground soldering a copper sheet with a brass torch. A bare foot rests on the left, pliers with blue handles hold a copper wire, and a red-handled torch flame heats a copper piece resting on a brick. A metal bowl sits on the right, with a blurred stone or fabric in the background. No a person candidate is visible; only the hands and feet of workers appear.2011-10-22Close-up photograph of a metalworker brazing or soldering a copper-coloured metal piece with a torch flame. A brass-tipped blowpipe directs a bright orange flame onto a thin rod held by blue-handled pliers, while the workpiece sits on a dusty ground surface. Gold-coloured brazing solder beads along the seams of the copper and brass vessel. Only a hand holding the pliers is visible at the edge of the frame, no faces shown. Photo shows metal craft work rather than a ritual, discourse or ashram scene.2011-10-22A close photograph of a metalworker brazing copper pieces with a brass torch flame. A copper tube is held in blue-handled pliers while the orange flame melts solder along a curved copper sheet with gold-coloured joins. Partial hands are visible at the lower right and a rough concrete floor lies beneath. No a person or other people are clearly visible, only hands.2011-10-22Close-up photograph of a metalworker's hands using a gas torch with a brass nozzle to heat a blackened metal piece on a dusty ground. Blue-handled pliers grip the piece while the flame bursts from the torch. Specks of molten solder or metal are visible along the edges. No ritual setting, deity or a person is shown. The background is blurred earth and scattered gravel.2011-10-22October 22 20112011-10-22September 06 20092009-09-06Close-up photograph of a metalworking task: a hand holds a dark bent metal clamp or tongs gripping a flat metal sheet, while a torch nozzle directs an orange-yellow flame onto a joint and a thin filler rod feeds in from the right. Sparks and a bright melt point mark the welding spot on the polished, reflective metal surface. No people are shown except partial hands at the edges; no a person candidate is visible.2013-07-05Two men crouch barefoot on a paved brick floor outside, working on a metal piece together. The man on the left, in a blue and white checked shirt and maroon lungi, holds a torch-like flame nozzle with a blue hose and works at the metal. The man on the right, in a red checked shirt and white dhoti, sits on a concrete block and hammers a small metal object with a tool. Metal tools, a metal cup, a reddish cloth and a sheet of metal lie on the ground, with a grey metal fence behind them.2011-10-22A photograph of a metal casting workshop on a dirt floor at night. A glowing fire burns beside a clay mould, and a person's hands grip long iron tongs holding a crucible or ladle of molten metal above a rectangular metal mould. A rusty iron tray and tools lie on the ground, and a corrugated sheet stands in the background. Only two hands and a forearm of a worker are visible, with a bangle on one wrist. No a person candidate is visible in the scene.2007-08-27July 13 20132013-07-13 +1 copiesA photograph of an outdoor metal casting workshop on bare earth at night. A person's hands, visible at the right edge, hold long iron tongs gripping a crucible tilted over a small square mould-like block, and a bright orange flame rises from the pouring. Molten metal streams toward the mould. Behind them, a flat iron sheet and a rusted metal frame hold scattered grey metal and debris, with a brick base at the top left. No face is visible and no one is identifiable; only the hands and a partial dhoti-like garment appear.2007-08-27Two men sit barefoot on bare ground working on a metal sculpture. The man on the left wears a white shirt and light blue jeans and uses a chisel-like tool on the metal. The man on the right wears a teal-grey shirt, a mustard-yellow dhoti with yellow border, and a red thread on his wrist, holding a hammer. Behind them sit sacks, copper-coloured pots and other tools on the dusty ground. No deity form is clearly identifiable from this view.2009-12-13
