June 17 20132013-06-17Two men work on the floor of a dusty workshop beside an orange-painted wall and a corrugated metal panel. The man on the left, in a white vest and blue checked lungi, smooths a large grey clay or plaster block with his hands. The man on the right, in a blue checked shirt and lungi, sits crouched beside a dark bowl and a flat board with a low pot of mixed material. Buckets, cement blocks, cloth scraps and wooden planks lie around the floor. No a person candidate is visible.2013-06-17September 16 20132013-09-16Three young men work outdoors on bare red earth beside a pile of rough grey granite blocks. The man on the left, in a white short-sleeved shirt and light grey trousers, crouches barefoot while pressing wet grey material. The man on the right, in a striped shirt and checked lungi-style cloth, shapes a curved wet clay form on a concrete base. A third man in a white shirt crouches behind them. A yellow bucket sits on the ground, with broken red bricks and scattered stones around. No ritual or festival activity is visible, and no recognizable a person figure appears in the scene.2013-06-05A photograph of a rural outdoor work area under a tarpaulin and bamboo lattice shelter. Several young men in lungis, checked shirts and vests crowd around, some bending over metal objects on the ground, while one holds a long grey metal pipe. On the right, a figure in a flowing saffron/orange robe with long dark hair stands observing the workers, with dense green foliage behind. a person cues are limited here: the figure wears saffron robes and long hair, but the appearance is not distinctive enough for confident identification, so the role is given as a person in saffron robes observing the workers.2006-09-18A dim brick-walled workshop with an earthen floor shows a molten metal pour in progress. A man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands at left, bent over a crucible glowing bright orange-red on the ground, while a bare-chested worker in a striped shirt and white dhoti holds a long iron rod across it. Small clay lamps with flames line the crucible's edge. Behind them, a group of onlookers stands watching, including two women in orange and red saris. A metal basin and sacks lie against the wall. The scene appears to be a traditional metal casting.2013-07-29Night photo of a metalworking scene outdoors beside a brick wall. A tall flame rises from a crucible on a clay ground, and several men work with long iron rods around it. On the left, a man in a white shirt and pink-red lungi grips a rod. Beside him, a shirtless man in a dark vest and checked lungi holds a rod, and a man in a white t-shirt works nearby. On the right, a bare-backed figure in saffron-orange cloth with gold borders stands with hands on hips, and other people in white shirts and saffron cloth watch in the background.2013-09-16July 29 20132013-07-29August 24 20142014-08-24Photograph of an indoor hall with bare concrete walls and a brick floor where men are gathered around a glowing red-hot crucible or metal pot set on the ground, held by a curved iron stand with a long iron rod across it. A man in a white t-shirt and checked lungi stands at left with his forearms bandaged in white and a red wrap on one hand, while another man in a white shirt and checked lungi stands at right. Several young men in white t-shirts and lungis stand behind, some holding long poles, and a man in saffron-orange robes kneels at left filming with a video camera. A cameraman in a white shirt and jeans is also filming. Fire glows at right edge. The scene appears to show a fire-walking or hot-metal ritual preparation.2014-08-24Two men work at an outdoor metal-casting area with a glowing crucible. The man on the left wears a white t-shirt, checked lungi-style cloth and bandaged forearms, and holds a long iron handle with the crucible of molten metal. The man on the right, in a white t-shirt with a logo and plaid lungi, pulls the other end of the handle near the bright orange molten metal. A small child stands at the right edge, and a fire burns on the ground at left against a whitewashed wall.2014-08-24July 05 20132013-07-05
