Two men work at an outdoor metal-casting area with a glowing crucible. The man on the left wears a white t-shirt, checked lungi-style cloth and bandaged forearms, and holds a long iron handle with the crucible of molten metal. The man on the right, in a white t-shirt with a logo and plaid lungi, pulls the other end of the handle near the bright orange molten metal. A small child stands at the right edge, and a fire burns on the ground at left against a whitewashed wall.

September 21 20142014-09-21A photograph inside a bare, whitewashed concrete workshop shows men tending a glowing fire. In the centre a red-orange flame rises from a clay furnace or mould, and a man in a white t-shirt leans over it using long iron tongs and a rod to manipulate a metal piece in the fire. Beside him, a man in a white shirt and another in a dark apron and red checked cloth hold a long bellows-like pipe. Dry wood and debris lie on the earthen floor, with a blue drum in the background. Smoke drifts through the room.2014-08-24Photograph of an indoor hall with bare concrete walls and a brick floor where men are gathered around a glowing red-hot crucible or metal pot set on the ground, held by a curved iron stand with a long iron rod across it. A man in a white t-shirt and checked lungi stands at left with his forearms bandaged in white and a red wrap on one hand, while another man in a white shirt and checked lungi stands at right. Several young men in white t-shirts and lungis stand behind, some holding long poles, and a man in saffron-orange robes kneels at left filming with a video camera. A cameraman in a white shirt and jeans is also filming. Fire glows at right edge. The scene appears to show a fire-walking or hot-metal ritual preparation.2014-08-24August 24 20142014-08-24July 29 20132013-07-29Making Of Sacred Arts UniversitySeptember 04 20132013-09-04A dim brick-walled workshop with an earthen floor shows a molten metal pour in progress. A man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands at left, bent over a crucible glowing bright orange-red on the ground, while a bare-chested worker in a striped shirt and white dhoti holds a long iron rod across it. The scene appears to be a traditional metal casting.2013-07-29A night-time photograph of metal casting at an outdoor furnace. A glowing orange-red crucible sits in a low brick or earthen furnace, with molten metal visible inside. Two workers stand on either side handling long iron ladles with gloved hands: the man on the left wears a checked lungi and dark shirt and grips a ladle with a yellow glove, while the man on the right wears a bright turquoise t-shirt, a checked lungi and a white cloth on his head, and pours or tends a ladle of molten metal. Dark ground, scattered sticks and a wooden plank lie in the foreground, with a faint smoke plume rising from the furnace.October 05 20132013-10-05October 05 20132013-10-05Three men work at an open fire in a workshop yard at night, using long iron rods to handle a metal piece in the flames while sparks fly upward. The man in front wears a white shirt and a blue and white checked lungi, the middle man is shirtless with a white cloth, and the man behind wears a white shirt and a dhoti.
