Many terracotta oil lamps with lit flames sit on flat woven bamboo trays in rows. Standing devotees in white and colourful saris, a woman in a red salwar outfit, and a man in a red-orange robe watch and tend the lamps; a woman in a yellow-orange sari kneels near the trays. Several people in white dhoti-style clothing stand in the background.2017-12-02December 02 20172017-12-02Rows of small terracotta oil lamps with lit wicks sit along a stone ledge at night, their warm flames casting glow on the grey stone surface. A blurred white-clothed figure is partly visible at the upper left edge, seated out of focus. The scene shows lamps lit for a Karthikai Deepam celebration; the oil lamps are the clear focus, with dark shadows around them.2010-11-21December 02 20172017-12-02August 05 20092009-08-05Overhead view of a dark ground lit by rows of small terracotta oil lamps with burning wicks arranged in a zigzag pattern, glowing warmly against a sandy surface. No people are visible in the frame. The lamps suggest a lamp-lighting ritual, with the arrangement forming angular lines across the image.2007-02-16December 12 20162016-12-12
