June 12 20132013-06-12A large, ancient banyan tree dominates the frame, its wide spreading limbs and many aerial prop roots forming a dense green canopy over reddish-brown earth. Thick hanging roots descend from the branches around the trunks. At the base, beneath the lower branches, a small shrine area is visible with red and white draped fabric and a few small objects, though figures there are too distant to clearly distinguish. Overcast light filters through the leaves. No clearly visible people are present in the foreground.2015-08-23June 12 20132013-06-12A large banyan tree with wide spreading horizontal branches covered in green leaves and many hanging aerial roots descending from the limbs. Thick aerial roots form pillar-like trunks on the right, and a smaller purple object hangs from a branch at upper left. No people are visible; the scene is a close view of the tree canopy against pale sky.2009-09-05August 13 20142014-08-13A large banyan tree photographed from below, with a dense canopy of green leaves spreading across thick, grey, horizontal limbs. No people, altars or ritual activity are visible; the scene is a natural tree canopy against a pale sky.2009-09-05A large banyan tree dominates the frame, with thick grey trunks, spreading horizontal limbs and many hanging aerial roots descending like vertical cords. Circular low white-painted stone borders surround the tree bases. No people are clearly visible; a small figure may be partly hidden in the shade at the centre-right, but it is not distinct. Pale grey trunks rise at the right edge. Bright sky shows through gaps in the canopy.2013-06-20June 14 20132013-06-14
