Many people wear white dhotis, white kurtas and white saris, with some in red and yellow saris. In the centre stands a tall tapering flagstaff or kodimaram with a red and orange flag, its base surrounded by a dark stone statue and a ceremonial garland. A figure in orange clothing stands near the pole. To the right, a decorated temple-style ratha or chariot shows painted deity figures under a canopy, beside umbrellas and a banner. Many participants raise hands or stand in reverent poses, watching the flagstaff.2009-02-23
