At its base, a standing figure in long flowing orange robes with long dark hair holds a lamp or offering toward the pole, beside a yellow wooden support. Marigold garlands drape the copper base on a red-orange raised platform. Behind, a person in white dhoti stands near the pole, and a cameraman films at the lower left. Palm trees and foliage frame the scene, and onlookers in white gather at the lower right.2010-09-02February 23 20152015-02-23A photograph of a flag-hoisting ceremony at a tall copper-clad flagstaff (dhvaja stambha) with spiral bands, rising against a clear blue sky beside coconut palms. An orange-robed sannyasi in orange clothes and a white and orange garland pulls a rope to raise a saffron flag at the top. Around the base, marigold garlands hang on the pillar and small potted plants sit on the stone platform. To the right, two more orange-clad people, one with rudraksha beads, look upward and one holds a brass tray, while a person in white stands in the foreground. An orange and red umbrella appears at the right edge.2008-12-23December 18 20132013-12-18Outdoor photo of a tall copper flagstaff with a finial and a red-and-white pennant rising against a clear blue sky beside a palm tree. Two priests in reddish-orange dhotis with bare upper bodies stand at its base, one reaching up to the pole, which rests on a copper kalasha-style base decorated with flower garlands and green leaves. Beneath an open metal-framed shelter, a crowd of devotees in white and orange watches, with a bald man in white on the right near a large dark stone object. A white van and red pillars are visible in the background. Ritual flag-hoisting setting.2015-02-23December 18 20132013-12-18December 25 20152015-12-25March 01 20162016-03-01
