Outdoor flag-hoisting ceremony at a festival ground lined with coconut palms under a clear sky. A tall wooden flagstaff rises from a white-tiered base at centre, with several saffron-robed men in orange cloth around it. Behind them a bright orange flag and a painted decorated pole frame the scene. A crowd of devotees in white dhotis, white shirts and white and cream saris, several with orange or yellow shawls, stands around the platform. Musicians in white with a drum and a pipe sit at right, and a metal tray of offerings rests in the lower right corner. Colourful striped banners with floral patterns flank the frame at left and right.
