Its base is decorated with yellow-orange garlands and a stone pedestal. To the right of the pole, a figure in orange robes stands near the base, apparently performing the flag-hoisting rite. In the foreground, a large crowd of devotees dressed in white clothes stands with hands folded in namaskar, some raising cameras or phones. Hazy sunlight and bright sky fill the upper frame. A small blue-and-white logo appears in the top-left corner.2006-12-23Night photograph of a tall copper-wrapped ritual pole, possibly a flagstaff or ceremonial post, standing upright with a lit oil lamp cluster and white feathered top at its base. Around it a crowd of men and women in white dhotis and white saris stands behind bamboo railings, some with hands folded in prayer. A shallow fire pit with glowing embers and ash lies in the foreground, and a palm tree and bright lamp light the background. Strings of small pennants run along the railing line.2006-12-30Outdoor photograph of a Dwajarohana flag-hoisting ceremony at dusk beneath a corrugated roof trimmed with orange pennants. A tall copper flagstaff rises at centre, its top fitted with a decorated finial, a red flag fluttering from it. A man in orange clothing stands on a raised platform at its base, guiding ropes. In the foreground a crowd of devotees, mostly men in white dhotis and shirts, some with green headcloths and bare shoulders, watch upward; one man in a pale green shawl with an orange border stands at right. Palm trees line the background under a pale sky.2010-12-20December 30 20062006-12-30Outdoor temple-ground scene under a pale blue sky with tall coconut palms. A tall orange-painted ceremonial flagstaff or kodimaram-style pole rises in the centre, its top ornamented with a carved orange figure. Several people in saffron/orange robes stand at its base around a raised platform, some with arms lifted. A large crowd of devotees in white dhotis and kurtas, and women in saffron, blue, green and yellow saris, face the pole with hands raised in worship. To the right, a gilded, ornately carved shrine or palanquin houses a deity murti with a red-and-gold backdrop, flanked by two smaller figures. A woman in a white sari stands at its side. A thatched hut stands at the far left edge.2009-02-23 +1 copiesAugust 27 20162016-08-27December 23 20082008-12-23December 23 20082008-12-23 +1 copiesJanuary 27 20102010-01-27 +1 copies
