Outdoor photograph at dusk of a tall copper-coloured ritual pillar topped with a dark carved finial and a red-orange flag, set on a white stepped base among coconut palms under a pale sky with a moon. Around the base, roughly seven people stand and gaze upward: a woman in a red patterned kurta, a man in a light blue shirt, a woman in white with a flower garland at her feet, a man in a white kurta and cream trousers, a woman in purple sari, an older woman in dark clothing, and a woman in white with a red-brown shawl holding her hands together in greeting. Stone sculptures stand to the left.2010-01-24A tall, slender ceremonial flagpole (dhwajasthambha) rises through the centre of an open outdoor yard beside palm trees, topped with a small red-orange flag. Its base is decorated with yellow-orange garlands and a stone pedestal. To the right of the pole, a figure in orange robes stands near the base, apparently performing the flag-hoisting rite. In the foreground, a large crowd of devotees dressed in white clothes stands with hands folded in namaskar, some raising cameras or phones. Hazy sunlight and bright sky fill the upper frame. A small blue-and-white logo appears in the top-left corner.2006-12-23December 20 20102010-12-20December 23 20082008-12-23December 23 20082008-12-23 +1 copiesAugust 26 20072007-08-26December 23 20082008-12-23A tall copper-coloured ceremonial flagstaff with ring-patterned shaft and a tiered ornamental top rises from a white stepped platform beside palm and broadleaf trees under a pale sky. A red-and-orange deity figure or murti stands at its base, draped in a red cloth and garlanded with marigold strands, with a trident visible nearby. A small cluster of devotees stands at the platform's edge, several in white clothing, some with hair tied back, and a man in a blue shirt and a bald man in white on the right. A thin rope runs up the pole, consistent with flag hoisting at a festival, and a red flag hangs to the left of the platform.2008-12-23August 26 20072007-08-26December 23 20082008-12-23Outdoor photograph of a tall copper dhvaja stambha, a flagstaff rising above a white stone base in front of palm trees under a bright blue sky. A dark stone Nandi bull figure with a garland sits at the base, with a black stone yoni-shaped pedestal in the foreground. Around the base, about a dozen devotees in white clothes stand and pray; several women wear white saris with gold borders, and men wear white shirts and dhotis. One figure in white stands at the Nandi, and an orange and red ribbon flutters from the top of the flagstaff.2007-08-26Outdoor temple courtyard with a tall copper-coloured dhwajasthambha flagstaff rising beside a raised orange-red platform decorated with garlands and a kalasha. A priest in white dhoti stands atop the platform near the flagstaff, while a crowd of devotees in white dhotis, orange and yellow shirts and a blue t-shirt watch from the paved courtyard. A shelter with a red-trimmed metal roof stands at left, with a golden deity murti and garlands visible beside it, and palm trees frame the scene. Some devotees appear to be on the platform's steps. A person in an orange robe stands among the onlookers. No figure in the image is clearly identifiable as a person by appearance.2011-09-09
