March 02 20212021-03-02March 02 20212021-03-02A photo of an outdoor homa fire ceremony on a tiled courtyard beside a red wall. A man seated on a white cloth with a folded striped mat wears a bare chest, a rudraksha mala and a gold chain and sits before a rangoli of yellow flowers and red powder with apples laid out. Beside him a standing man in white dhoti and shawl, wearing a rudraksha mala, bends over a square fire pit lined with brick-coloured blocks and yellow marigold petals, where flames burn above a copper vessel and ladle. Marigold garlands, a kalasha and pots of offerings are placed around the area, and two people in saffron clothing stand in the background. Several rows of coconuts decorated with flowers line the wall.2016-02-27February 27 20162016-02-27A seated man in saffron-orange robes and a long gold-beaded necklace with a large gold pendant sits on an ornate gold throne decorated with garlands of yellow, red and white flowers and green leaves. Two golden deity murti flank him, each wearing a jeweled crown, white jasmine garlands and jeweled ornaments; the left one has an orange turban. Behind is a red draped backdrop. The seated man's appearance matches the page's reference to a person with saffron robes and a gold necklace, but the identification is uncertain.2012-10-17December 26 20132013-12-26September 07 20172017-09-07 +1 copiesMay 24 20182018-05-24 +1 copiesA seated figure is photographed from behind, wrapped in a red cloth and draped with long garlands of white jasmine and red rose flowers. A large yellow flower crown sits atop the head. Smoke rises in the background near a flame at left, a golden framed deity murti stands behind, and bananas are visible at right. The figure's face is not visible, so the identity is uncertain and there is no clear visual cue for a person.2021-03-02March 02 20212021-03-02May 24 20182018-05-24 +1 copiesA night-time homa at an open-air ritual site. A fire burns in a square brick fire pit, its outline painted white and pink with geometric designs, set on striped cloth. A seated man in a rust-red dhoti and red shawl, with a patterned headband, arm bands and beaded bracelets, raises one arm and gestures over the fire. Beside him a younger man in white dhoti and cloth, with a rudraksha mala and yellow-painted body, tends the offerings. Brass vessels, a bowl of yellow and white offerings, a kalasha-style pot, small copper cups and a silver peetha-style shrine with flower garlands lie nearby.2017-09-07
