A large black Shiva lingam with a yoni base, draped in marigold and multicoloured flower garlands, stands on a floating platform in a water tank. A seated figure in an orange robe and red garland raises a hand in greeting from a flower-decorated float; a gold trident and a ceremonial staff stand at the front. Around the float, many people wearing white clothes stand and wade in the water, with others in white standing on the tiered stone steps behind, while water sprays from fountains and the lingam's surface. Printed text on the float's banner shows a partial word ending in 'ARATHI' in red and white letters.
