A shaved-headed priest in an orange-red dhoti with a sacred thread and beaded neck garland sits at left, gripping grass bundles and feeding them toward the flames. Beside him, a younger priest in orange cloth with a white tilak on his forehead watches the fire. Behind them, several men in white kurtas, one wearing rudraksha beads, sit observing. Silver puja vessels, a metal tray and a brass oil lamp rest on the floor in the foreground, and a woman in white is partly visible at the right edge.2013-05-13November 18 20152015-11-18January 05 20142014-01-05March 09 20142014-03-09A large open flame rises from a homa fire pit in the foreground, with rectangular yellow-and-pink sweets or offerings arranged around its base. Behind the fire, a person in an orange-saffron robe with a gold-toned ornate necklace sits, with one hand resting on a sheet of paper. Brass lamps, a small bell, a bowl of water, red flower petals in metal dishes, and a bundle of dried twigs lie on the table. The orange robe and gold necklace are the most distinctive visible cues, but the face is cropped out, so identity is uncertain.A seated priest in a red-orange dhoti-style wrap and red-orange turban performs a homa at a brick fire pit with a large open flame at night. He wears layered gold beaded and bead-ornament necklaces, multiple bangles on his arms, and long reddish sacred cords or malas over his shoulders. He offers items into the fire with his hands. Brass vessels, a plate and small cups with offerings sit on the floor beside him, and a covered brass container is at the right edge. The setting is dark with warm firelight.2013-12-20 +1 copiesJanuary 18 20142014-01-18 +1 copiesMarch 06 20162016-03-06 +1 copies
