A photograph of a homa fire ceremony in a temple hall at night. A fire burns in a large square golden fire pit with patterned tiles, sending up smoke. A man in an orange-red turban, orange-red shawl, rudraksha mala and ceremonial gold necklace kneels on the right holding an open book and reading. Oil lamps stand beside the pit and marigold petals are scattered on a mat. Behind, several people in white clothes sit on mats, some near a drum. The figure matches the presentation of a person through the turban, orange robes and rudraksha beads, but this is an appearance-based label only, and he is described here as a priest leading the fire ritual.2015-11-18A man in orange and saffron robes kneels before a blazing homa fire pit, feeding it with a metal ladle and a stick. He wears an orange turban, a rudraksha mala, and a saffron shawl over his shoulder. Smoke and flames rise from the stone pit, with silver bowls of offerings and a brass kalasha with green leaves at the edge. The setting appears to be an outdoor ritual space at night.2013-11-02A photograph of a homa fire pit at night, with bright orange flames and rising smoke. A man in an orange-red turban and orange-red cloth sits behind the fire pit, holding a silver ladle in his right hand and offering into the flames. Two polished silver bowls sit on the stone ledge to the left, and a brass kalasha with yellow flowers and green leaves stands to the right. The fire is built from wooden logs, and small offerings are scattered on the stone.2013-11-02March 09 20142014-03-09September 17 20172017-09-17 +1 copiesA homa fire ceremony at night in an open hall. Brass oil lamps with flames sit at the pit's edge, and marigold petals and offerings lie on a cloth.2015-11-18A fire ritual at night: a tall flame rises from a wood fire pit (homa) on a wooden platform with a yellow edge and dry straw at its base. A young man in a white dhoti-style cloth and a beige turban holds a stick toward the fire, wearing a long rudraksha mala and bangles. Beside him, a second person in an orange-saffron garment with a rudraksha mala looks toward the flames, and another figure stands behind the fire in the smoke. The background is dark and smoky.2013-10-15January 22 20142014-01-22April 26 20182018-04-26 +1 copiesApril 03 20182018-04-03February 21 20172017-02-21January 22 20142014-01-22
