Two brass lamps stand on the platform. A large crowd of devotees sits on the ground in front, mostly dressed in white, with women in long braids and some in pink and yellow. Two painted cylindrical pillars with geometric patterns and a bird motif flank the shrine under a metal-frame roof with a string of lights. Near the shrine, a figure in saffron-orange robes with long dark hair sits at the front, a person by appearance and cues: long swept-back hair and orange clothing, seated while a priest in white stands nearby. The setting appears to be a Shivaratri night puja.2007-02-16Photo 11709697December 26 20132013-12-26December 27 20132013-12-27Photo 11710174Outdoor temple courtyard at dusk with a crowd of devotees dressed mostly in white, many women with long braids, gathered before a shrine with a deity murti decorated with flower garlands and a fruit and flower offering tray. In the foreground a woman in a white sari and a man in white hold hands near a lit oil lamp setup, while others stand around with folded hands. Red curtains hang beside grey stone pillars, and multicoloured bunting and a striped canopy decorate the covered hall. A priest in white stands at the altar, consistent with a vilakku puja. No identifiable a person figure is visible, so the scene shows devotees only.2006-12-31December 30 20062006-12-30 +1 copies
