At the centre, a deity murti with a gold arch sits behind an ornate red throne-like seat draped with a large marigold garland, and a portrait labelled with a readable name stands on the seat. Brass oil lamps, a kalasha-like vessel and offerings sit on the floor before the shrine. Men wear white dhotis and shirts, one in an orange shirt; women wear saris in blue, pink and green. Orange drapes frame the shrine and banana leaves decorate the sides.2009-12-21A night-time outdoor ritual scene in front of a stone shrine housing a decorated deity murti garlanded with flowers, with a red and gold figure and a dark drape framing it. Two brass lamps stand on the platform. A large crowd of devotees sits on the ground in front, mostly dressed in white, with women in long braids and some in pink and yellow. Two painted cylindrical pillars with geometric patterns and a bird motif flank the shrine under a metal-frame roof with a string of lights. Near the shrine, a figure in saffron-orange robes with long dark hair sits at the front, a person by appearance and cues: long swept-back hair and orange clothing, seated while a priest in white stands nearby. The setting appears to be a Shivaratri night puja.2007-02-16A photograph of a temple shrine under a corrugated roof, with a deity murti and multiple figures on a golden-framed altar inside a stone-pillared structure with painted pillars and bull statues on top. In front, a crowd of devotees in white dhotis and white saris with gold borders stands behind steel rope barriers. Several children and young women in saffron and orange robes stand near the shrine, some carrying items, while a brass vessel sits on the floor in front of a white kolam design. Some devotees wear orange shawls. The setting is outdoors with trees behind the structure. No individual can be confidently identified as a person from appearance, so the scene is described by roles only.2016-04-03December 30 20062006-12-30 +1 copiesA photograph of a temple worship scene under a corrugated roof with orange and white bunting. At the center, a shrine with pink curtains holds a deity murti decorated with garlands and a golden arch, with a red lamp stand in front. A woman in a leopard-print top sits on an orange cushion facing the shrine, with devotees in white clothes kneeling and standing behind her along a metal railing. Several people in white saris and white shirts hold items near the shrine, and a man in an orange shirt stands at the right edge. A small group performs a ritual at the shrine while a man in a white shirt stands with his hands held together.2009-02-23Evening photo of devotees gathered in a open-sided pavilion before a grey stone shrine housing a deity murti in red and orange with a red curtain behind. Many people stand in rows on a mat in white dhotis, mundus and white kurtas; a man in a blue-and-white checked lungi stands at left, and a boy in a red shirt is near the centre. At right, a man in white with an orange shawl stands with his back partly turned, and a girl in white with a gold-trimmed garment stands nearby. Brass oil lamps and a brass vessel sit on the mat in the foreground, and a deity image in colour hangs above the shrine. Appears to be a puja or darshan.2007-09-21Devotees stand in a long queue behind metal railings inside a covered temple courtyard, facing a stone shrine with an ornate golden arch. Within the shrine stand deity murtis, one in blue with gold garments and a crown, flanked by a female figure, with a garlanded framed portrait of a bearded sannyasi placed on a red and gold throne in front. A man in saffron robes stands near the throne and a brass oil lamp stands on the floor. Men in white shirts and dhotis fold their hands in prayer on the left, while women in saris of pink, blue, green and yellow watch on the right. Green banana plants and saffron cloth decorate the scene, indicating a darshan setting at a temple.2009-12-21February 27 20162016-02-27
