Photo 11689709October 07 20142014-10-07Close photo of a man crouched on a pale concrete floor beside a shallow stone bowl filled with grey powder or paste, reaching with his hand to a stepped concrete edge. He wears a checked cloth wrapped around his waist and a light grey top, and is barefoot. Behind him are stacked red bricks and a concrete staircase. No a person candidate is visible; the activity appears to be mixing or applying material on a construction site.2008-03-22A man in a grey short-sleeved shirt, maroon checked lungi and white head wrap crouches barefoot on a concrete platform, smoothing wet grey mortar along the edge of a stepped structure with a long wooden float. A trowel lies on the ground beside him and a shallow metal tray of mortar sits at left. Behind him, a woman in a white sari and a girl in magenta and a girl in green stand near brass pots and a green plastic bottle, and a black Shiva linga adorned with yellow and orange marigold garlands sits on a white pedestal in the background. The scene is a kara seva labour offering at an outdoor shrine site.2008-02-23 +1 copiesOctober 07 20142014-10-07 +1 copiesOctober 07 20142014-10-07May 21 20072007-05-21 +1 copiesApril 2008 - Making Of Kailaasa In TiruvannamalaiA young man in a pale yellow collared shirt and blue jeans crouches on a concrete-paved area, troweling wet grey mortar or cement into gaps between stone slabs. Several labourers bend over the trench: one in a green top and white shorts places blocks, a man in a red shirt and white cap stands at center, and two women in saris (one blue, one red) work on the excavated sides. Stacks of blocks, piles of rubble and sand, and scattered trees and a palm line the background under a pale sky.A photograph of temple construction labour on a sandy site. Three men work barefoot with long-handled hoes or shovels, mixing wet grey concrete mixed with gravel on the ground. The man in the foreground wears a white shirt and a green-and-yellow checked lungi, bending forward over the mix. Behind him another worker in a white shirt and checked lungi stoops with a hoe. At left, a man in a teal top and plaid lungi holds a red bucket, while an orange bucket sits on the sand. Piles of sand and a loose cloth lie in the background.2006-12-09
