Night outdoor ritual at a golden cobra-hooded Shiva lingam altar strung with yellow and pink flower garlands beneath a tree. A bare-chested man with a shaved head, white vibhuti marks and a white sacred thread reaches out to offer something white at the lingam. Beside him a young shirtless boy in an orange cloth draped over his shoulder holds a brass pot. A woman in a blue sari with a red bindi watches at the rail, and a few onlookers stand behind a metal barrier. Strings of lights and a corrugated roof frame the scene.2017-06-08 +1 copiesJanuary 16 20182018-01-16January 20 20192019-01-20June 08 20172017-06-08October 06 20132013-10-06January 16 20182018-01-16January 14 20182018-01-14 +1 copiesMarch 11 20172017-03-11June 08 20172017-06-08A man in an orange-brown silk dhoti with gold borders stands outdoors beside an ornate pinkish-gold stone pillar garlanded with yellow and pink flowers. He wears a red and white flower garland with gold-tipped ends and holds a small oil lamp aloft in one hand and a silver bell in the other, gazing upward. Palm trees and dense greenery fill the background under a dusky sky. The scene resembles an aarti offering at a shrine pillar. A bare-shouldered figure with a white wrap on one arm; ceremonial gold necklace visible.2013-10-05A photograph of a large ornate copper-coloured ceremonial pillar or dhwaja-style column wrapped with cloth and coconut fronds, decorated with a carved shrine niche holding a small deity murti garlanded with yellow marigolds. A standing person in an orange-brown silk dhoti and wrap, with a red and white flower garland over the shoulder and gold bangles, stands beside the column, facing it with hands together in an offering gesture. Palm trees and a corrugated roof edge frame the outdoor setting under a pale sky. Two or three other people in white are partly visible at the left and background.2013-04-14June 08 20172017-06-08
