A red-and-gold silk cloth and garlands of yellow, red and purple flowers drape a large deity murti behind. Behind the central figure, a bearded man in orange robes stands beside another attendant in orange holding a small brass pot, and a white marble statue of a seated figure with raised hand is at lower left. The a person cues are a long swept-back hairstyle, saffron clothing and a rudraksha-style necklace, but appearance alone is not conclusive, so the label is probable.2010-02-12February 17 20152015-02-17 +1 copiesNight-time outdoor ritual photograph. A shirtless man with a white and red forehead marking and a red and black wristband stands at left-centre, reaching up to pour or touch water over a golden cobra-hooded statue, its hood raised above a flower-garlanded silver-and-glass vessel. Beside him a second man in an orange-saffron shawl and white dhoti holds a brass pot and bangles. Hanging green leaves, a corrugated metal roof and string lights frame the scene, with a few onlookers visible at the bottom edge. The visible action resembles abhishekam at a shrine. Visible people: three, two in the foreground and one partially visible at the lower edge.2017-06-08June 03 20162016-06-03A shaven-headed priest in an orange-red dhoti and wrap with a gold border stands at a black stone shivalinga on a dark pedestal, pouring milk or water over it from a large brass vessel held in both hands. White liquid streams down the lingam. Behind him are gold-framed deity figures, garlands of yellow and purple flowers, and red blossoms. On the left stands a gilded statue of a standing figure with raised hand, and at lower right a white marble statue of a figure in a turban. This appears to be abhishekam at a temple shrine. The visible people are the single priest.2011-03-03March 07 20162016-03-07A photograph of a temple abhishekam at night. A man with long swept-back hair, wearing an orange saffron dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala, pours water from a metal vessel over a dark stone Shiva linga set in a black lotus-shaped yoni pedestal. Water splashes around the base. Behind him, a second man in orange with a full beard stands, and other saffron-clad devotees are partly visible. To the right, a large deity murti is draped in a red and gold silk cloth and garlanded with yellow and red flowers. A white marble seated figure and a small gold statue stand at the lower left.2010-02-12
