Marigold flowers lie at the water's edge and river ripples surround the scene.Three women in orange and maroon sari-style garments kneel at the edge of calm water, reaching their hands into the river as droplets spray up. The woman on the right wears an orange shawl, a dark bead necklace and a small stud earring; the centre woman wears a red blouse with silver bangles and a red forehead mark; the left woman has a dark bead necklace and wears a maroon skirt. A fourth figure in orange stands on a rocky outcrop in the misty background, and a few more orange-clad people are at the edge of the frame. The woman on the right wears a long orange shawl over a maroon skirt with gold trim, and the woman in the centre has a white tilak on her forehead and a small earring. A fourth figure in orange and red stands on a log-strewn bank in the misty background.
