A photograph of a figure seen from behind and to the side, wearing a red-orange dhoti-style garment with yellow bands across the chest and waist, and a long garland of yellow and red flowers draped over the shoulders. The figure reaches toward the massive trunk of a banyan tree whose many aerial roots and hanging prop roots form a dense curtain around a dark hollow at the base. Stone steps and a low stone platform are visible at left, with a blue-covered object at the lower edge. The person's hair is pinned up in a bun. The figure's face is not clearly visible, so the appearance cue for the a person label is insufficient and the figure is described by role as a devotee performing a tree-side ritual.2015-09-08A photograph of a man standing barefoot on a striped green-and-pink mat beside a large banyan tree, with aerial roots hanging down its trunk. He wears a rust-brown dhoti and wrap with a long flower garland of white, yellow and red blossoms draped over his shoulders, and his long dark hair falls down his back. He bows his head in prayer toward the tree. Paved stone tiles, a red-rimmed raised planter and a small stone block surround the spot, with a floodlight on a pole and greenery behind.2017-09-02September 01 20112011-09-01November 09 20112011-11-09A photograph of a man in saffron-orange robes standing with his hands clasped before him at a banyan tree shrine. Aerial roots hang and spread from the massive trunk, which shelters a dark recess at its base. Low stone platforms and a dark tiled walkway surround the tree in dappled sunlight. He wears a dark rudraksha mala and a reddish-maroon border on his garment. A small blue plaque on the stone platform reads a short inscription. Swamiji (probable) is a man with long swept-back dark hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha beads, standing in reverent posture.2011-03-05February 01 20132013-02-01A man stands barefoot on a striped cloth mat beside a large banyan tree with thick aerial roots. A red tilak is on his forehead and a red thread is tied on his wrist. Behind him are stone paving, a red-rimmed raised planter and a floodlight on a pole.2017-09-02December 29 20102010-12-29December 03 20162016-12-03September 02 20172017-09-02September 08 20152015-09-08January 13 20132013-01-13
