A photograph of a figure seen from behind and to the side, wearing a red-orange dhoti-style garment with yellow bands across the chest and waist, and a long garland of yellow and red flowers draped over the shoulders. The figure reaches toward the massive trunk of a banyan tree whose many aerial roots and hanging prop roots form a dense curtain around a dark hollow at the base. Stone steps and a low stone platform are visible at left, with a blue-covered object at the lower edge. The person's hair is pinned up in a bun. The figure's face is not clearly visible, so the appearance cue for the a person label is insufficient and the figure is described by role as a devotee performing a tree-side ritual.2015-09-08September 08 20152015-09-08June 07 20162016-06-07A large old banyan tree with many thick grey aerial roots and spreading limbs dominates the frame. At its base a standing man in a red dhoti-style garment with gold-coloured borders and a gold-bordered shawl wears a light forehead marking and looks downward. A small blue sign at lower left reads DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE, and a dark cave opening is visible at the base of the trunk. Green leaves and hanging roots fill the background.2011-09-10September 10 20112011-09-10A standing figure in saffron-orange robes with a bare upper arm and gold armband leans forward with forehead pressed against the trunk of a large banyan tree with many aerial roots. The man has long, swept-back dark hair and wears a rudraksha-style beaded mala with a gold chain and bangles, with a gold sash tied at the waist. He is barefoot on a stone platform. A blue sign at lower left reads DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE. Dappled sunlight falls across the bark and rocks, with greenery and a reddish building behind.2011-11-09A photograph of a man in saffron-orange robes standing with his hands clasped before him at a banyan tree shrine. Aerial roots hang and spread from the massive trunk, which shelters a dark recess at its base. Low stone platforms and a dark tiled walkway surround the tree in dappled sunlight. He wears a dark rudraksha mala and a reddish-maroon border on his garment. A small blue plaque on the stone platform reads a short inscription. Swamiji (probable) is a man with long swept-back dark hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha beads, standing in reverent posture.2011-03-05April 09 20132013-04-09December 04 20112011-12-04A large banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots dominates the scene. At its base sits a dark cave opening framed by a low whitewashed stone platform, with a blue sign reading "DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE" on the left. A single person stands barefoot at the right side of the tree, facing the trunk, wearing an orange dhoti with a green border and a green shawl or wrap, with a rudraksha-style bead necklace and hair tied up. Trees and misty greenery fill the background.2011-10-05February 01 20132013-02-01A photograph of a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and a dark cave opening at its base, beside a small blue sign reading DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE.
