TECHNIQUE AND INSTRUCTIONS:

This is a very interesting technique to refresh yourself in an instant. Sit still and close your eyes. Cross your hands and bring them up to your ears - left hand to the right ear, right hand to the left. Rub and massage your earlobes, holding them between the thumb and forefinger. Now, holding the earlobe between your first and second finger, pull it firmly down and release it. Do this a few times. If you can, squat and stand up a few times while you do this, creating a gentle pumping action in the body. In just a couple of minutes, you will start feeling a difference in your state of mind! You will straightaway feel energized and fresh. There is a reason for this. The ears are powerful acupuncture points with a direct connection to the brain. When the ears are stimulated, the energy flow to the brain is smoother. Since the left brain is connected to the right side of the body and vice-versa, we cross our hands when massaging the ears. If you notice, in any Indian temple, when people are worshipping Ganesha the elephant-god, they will always do this particular exercise. There is a science behind these traditional rituals. In Indian culture, Ganesha is the god of wisdom, with a phenomenal (elephant-sized!) memory. When we invoke him in this way, we are actually stimulating our own brain. Simultaneously, squatting and standing increases the circulation throughout the body. When practiced regularly, this small exercise can work wonders for your memory and awareness.
