A large crowd of men, women and children stands in a dusty courtyard in front of a pale pink temple gateway. Above the entrance rises a colourful gopuram with painted deity figures, including a central seated goddess flanked by attendants in blue and red. Inside the doorway, a figure in an orange-red robe stands at the threshold, partly obscured by the crowd; the page does not confirm the presence of a person, and appearance alone is insufficient to identify him. Most people wear white shirts, checked shirts and lungis. Two white bulls sit on the roof corners. Carved Tamil lettering runs along the facade.2009-02-02February 02 20092009-02-02April 06 20122012-04-06Outdoors on a dusty dirt road beside a colourful gopuram-style temple entrance with painted deity figures and pillars. A central figure in a saffron-orange robe, with long dark hair and a marigold garland over the shoulders, walks barefoot in the middle of a group. Around them men in white shirts and dhotis, some with lanyards, and a man in a green shirt walk alongside, with a woman in white and an orange shawl nearby. Bystanders stand under the temple roof and on steps at right, and a tiled-roof building and hillside trees sit in the background.2010-02-17A crowd of devotees gathers outside a whitewashed temple building in Tamil Nadu, with a tall multi-tiered gopuram covered in painted deity sculptures rising over the entrance. Many women wear sarees, some in green, red, and orange borders, and men wear white dhotis and shirts. A man in the center-right wears an orange shawl and dhoti, and an elderly man at right in a white dhoti with a yellow-bordered cloth stands beside a glass-walled structure draped with a maroon curtain. Banana leaves and red pillars frame the doorway, and a canopy shelters the area beyond. Some people carry bags and stand close together, and a young child is visible at the far right edge.2015-01-13A large outdoor crowd of villagers gathers on a dirt road in front of a small temple with a colourful gopuram-style tower and palm trees.
