Men in white dhotis and shirts, women in sarees including a yellow salwar-style outfit and an orange-brown sari, and children stand close together on dusty ground. A woman in white with a flower garland stands at the front. On the right, a red banner shows a portrait of a figure in orange robes with a rudraksha mala, with Tamil text printed across it. Stone bull statues sit on the roofline and a small signboard is mounted on the wall.2009-02-02February 02 20092009-02-02A dense outdoor street crowd gathers in front of a colourful South Indian temple gopuram, its tiers decorated with painted deity figures, lions and a kalasha-topped spire. A thatched bamboo canopy shades the temple entrance, with mango leaf strings hung across the doorway and a small orange-and-red signboard beside it. Several men in saffron and orange robes stand near the centre, one holding a folded orange cloth, while men in white shirts and dhotis, some with red shawls, press around them. A loudspeaker is mounted on a utility pole, and palm trees and low brick houses line the street under a pale sky.2014-06-24 +1 copiesA photograph of a crowded temple courtyard with pale yellow colonnades and a gopuram-style entrance topped with painted sculptures on the left. Devotees gather around a central procession under a multicoloured striped umbrella, with a long saffron-and-yellow banner with a red emblem carried on a pole at right. Many men in white shirts and dhotis, women in saris and salwar, and children move through the crowd, and a uniformed police officer stands at the lower right. No individual can be clearly identified as a candidate, and the central umbrella figure is not clearly visible.2012-05-18January 12 20072007-01-12February 15 20092009-02-15December 29 20102010-12-29January 16 20182018-01-16
