A close photo of two hands shaping a small dark clay figurine of a standing seated-style human figure with outstretched arms. One hand holds the figure steady while the other, holding a reddish-brown wooden modelling tool, carves fine lines along its torso and drapery. A second, partly formed clay piece lies on the grey surface in the background, and a white cloth with a red-and-black edge is visible at the right. No physical person is visible beyond the hands, and the figure is a sculpture, not a person depiction.

A man in a white short-sleeved shirt and white dhoti leans over a reclining wooden figure lying on a dark workbench, carving or finishing its face with a small tool. The figure is a dark-brown wooden sculpture of a reclining human form with bare legs and feet. Two carving knives with yellow handles lie on the table, a small white paper cup sits nearby, and a black chair stands against a pale concrete wall with a striped cloth hanging above. Wood shavings are scattered on the floor.

Close photo of two hands holding a dark, weathered wooden or carved figurine of a standing deity with a tall crown-like headdress and multiple arms. The left hand, in a white shirt sleeve with a hairy wrist, cups the figure from below. A second hand on the right holds the top of it, and a man in a blue and brown checked lungi stands at the right edge. The background is dark and blurred. Two people are partly visible, only their hands and clothing, so the count is one to two physical people.

A photograph of a large dark brown wooden sculpture lying horizontally on a black work surface in a dim workshop. The carved figure is seen from above with arms and legs extended, its head at right with carved facial features, and the glossy surface shows a light sheen. A pair of carving tools with yellow handles and a black chair are at the upper left, and a partially visible person's bare legs and white cloth appear at the top edge. No one is seated on the figure; the sculpture is being worked on.

A photograph of a craftsperson in orange robes working on a clay or wax sculpture at a sacred arts workshop. Seated on a concrete floor, a person in orange clothing holds a thin tool and presses or shapes a brown, moulded form resting on a dark sheet. A green-rimmed plastic cup of water sits nearby. Nearby on a wooden board and white block are more brown moulded figures and sculpted pieces, including a small shaped head-like form. A blue tarpaulin is visible at the top. The hand and arm of a second person appear at the bottom right. The setting suggests metal casting preparation for murti making.

Close view of two freshly cast dark bronze deity figurines held in the open palms of a man wearing a white dhoti. Both figures stand on round bases, with tall crowned headdresses, ornate jewellery and multiple arms holding ritual implements, one with a staff-like weapon. Behind them is a rough earthen workspace with a clay mould or crucible, scattered tools and a cardboard box, and a second person in a blue and white checked lungi stands at the right edge. The statues are.

Close-up photo of two hands working reddish-brown clay or plaster on the base of a grey stone sculpture outdoors. A worker with a wooden-handled tool smooths a thick band of terracotta-coloured material along the stone ledge. A second wooden-handled trowel lies on the stone above, beside a sandy ground. No visible face or ceremonial figure; the scene shows sculptural finishing work.

A photograph of an unfinished wooden figure of a standing male deity murti lying on a dark workbench in a workshop. The figure has a tall tiered topknot, a carved face with closed eyes, bare chest and arms that are still partly unshaped, and a rough, glossy brown finish. Carving tools with yellow and black handles lie to the right, and a partially visible hand with a white sleeve rests at the left edge. Dust and debris cover the floor. No people are fully visible, and the setting is a sculptor's workshop rather than a ritual event.
