Beside her, a man in a saffron-orange turban and dhoti, bare-chested, with gold necklaces and rudraksha-style beads, stands with palms pressed together in namaskar. Brass oil lamps stand on a stand to the right, a red-cushioned gold chair holds a tray of flowers and sandals at left, and a glass cabinet with figurines is behind. Two people visible; the man has a ceremonial look with gold adornments but his identity cannot be confirmed from appearance, so no probable label applies.2017-10-18A photograph inside a temple-like room with reddish walls and a wooden cabinet. A priest in a dark red-brown robe with a long dark braid on the left holds a bell in his left hand and a flaming camphor lamp aloft in his right hand before a deity murti. A second man in a saffron-orange dhoti with a gold waist sash, orange turban and layered gold necklaces and bangles stands in the centre holding a flaming aarti lamp toward the deity. The murti on the right is draped in yellow marigold garlands, adorned with gold jewellery and a crown, and surrounded by a tall brass lamp stand, string lights and a brass lamp. A small red velvet chair with gold trim holds offerings of flowers and footwear. The scene shows an aarti ritual.2017-10-18Evening puja inside a temple room lit with warm lamps. On the left, a woman in a dark red sari with a gold border holds a lit aarti flame on a plate toward the deity. In the centre, a man in an orange-red dhoti and turban, with a gold waist belt and beaded necklaces, holds a second flame and performs the aarti. On the right, a silver deity murti is decorated with yellow marigold garlands, gold ornaments and strings of fairy lights. Brass oil lamps stand nearby, and a red cushioned chair with a flower-covered footstool sits at left. Shelves with books and a bust are in the background.2017-10-18A photograph of a temple ritual on a covered outdoor platform. A man in an orange-red sleeveless top and orange cloth draped over his shoulder holds a brass lamp with a lit flame toward a richly garlanded deity murti on the right, decorated with red, yellow and white flower garlands and gold ornaments. To the left, a man in a white dhoti and white shirt with an orange shawl stands with palms pressed together in prayer, wearing a rudraksha mala. A tall brass oil lamp stands in the foreground beside a red curtain, with green foliage behind.2009-07-08April 30 20122012-04-30Inside a temple hall with pink-red walls, a bearded man in an orange-red turban and matching orange-red dhoti and sash stands with palms pressed together in anjali mudra, facing a shrine. Gold necklaces and armbands adorn him. Beside him, a figure in a rust-brown wrap with long dark hair and a red-orange turban stands with hands folded, and in the foreground a person with long braided hair in an orange garment stands with hands on hips. Brass lamp stands with oil lamps flank the scene, lit clay lamps glow on the floor, and yellow marigold garlands and flowers are arranged at the base of a stone pillar. A deity murti stands in a niche at the top.2017-10-18December 02 20172017-12-02A priest in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, seen from behind with bare upper back and rudraksha-style beaded cord, performs aarti with oil lamps before a richly decorated seated figure. The seated figure wears a red robe, a red and gold crown, layered gold necklaces and ornaments, and is framed by garlands of yellow marigolds and red-and-white flower strands. Ornately carved golden pillars with lion motifs flank the shrine, and a patterned gold backdrop surrounds the scene. The seated figure is a decorated murti in ceremonial dress rather than a clearly identifiable person, so the appearance-based label does not apply.2018-12-31April 20 20182018-04-20 +1 copiesOctober 18 20172017-10-18
