July 16 20112011-07-16A large black stone Shiva lingam stands in shallow water at dusk, draped with a marigold garland with yellow and black border trim and a cascade of water pouring over its top. Its circular yoni base sits on a platform in a pool surrounded by tiered red steps lined with plants and metal railings. A small illuminated shrine with lit lamps and an orange canopy sits beside it. A concrete building under construction and trees stand in the background.2011-07-16July 16 20112011-07-16Night photograph of a illuminated black Shiva lingam set in a large stone basin at the edge of a dark water tank, with water cascading down its sides from fountains. A small decorated boat or platform with yellow and green garland drapes sits on the water near the red-brick stepped embankment on the right, carrying a seated figure in orange-red clothing under a light. White-painted railing and stairs climb the left side beside the lingam, and a row of small statues stands along the top of the embankment at right.2011-03-03July 16 20112011-07-16A large black Shiva lingam stands in the middle of a flooded red-tiered stepped tank, decorated with marigold garlands and a yellow-and-red cloth band, water spouts rising around its base. In the foreground, several men in white dhotis and garments wade in the water, and on the right a flower-decked boat with an orange canopy carries two seated figures, one in white, while others push it along. Red-and-white steps lead up to the structure and a metal staircase runs along the left side. The scene suggests a lingam abhishekam or ritual procession on the water.2010-07-26April 25 20132013-04-25Night photograph of a large dark stone Shivalinga rising from a reflective water tank, with a set of white metal stairs on the left leading toward it. Beside the lingam, a small illuminated floating platform carries a deity murti decorated with a colourful garland and bright lights, with a figure in orange seated near it. A few people in white stand or sit in the water at the platform's edge. Floral petals float on the water, and terraced red walls with potted plants line the background.2011-12-10July 16 20112011-07-16Night photograph of a large black Shiva lingam on a tiered yellow-and-black garlanded base, standing on a wooden platform at the edge of dark water, with a metal staircase railing beside it. Across the water a brightly lit, ornately decorated shrine canopy with yellow, red and blue embellishments houses a seated figure in orange robes, flanked by garlands and draped fabric. Clay-pot-lined terraced banks and a brick wall form the background. Reflections of lights shimmer on the water surface. Appears to be a waterside ritual setting at night.2011-12-22July 22 20132013-07-22A large black stone Shiva lingam with a tiered base stands in the middle of a rectangular water tank, with water spouting from its top and sides. Behind it are red-tiered stone steps and a multistorey building with red and grey walls. On the right, a small decorated boat or float carrying a garlanded deity murti with a canopy is drifting on the water, with a few people in red and white clothing seated around it. No people are clearly standing on the steps.2013-04-25
