Dusk photograph of a large water tank at a temple complex. On the left, a tall black Shiva linga rises from a basin decorated with yellow-and-green garlands, with water jets around it. On the right, a figure in orange robes sits on a raised, flower-garlanded palanquin on an orange cloth-covered platform in the water, with attendants in orange and yellow beside him. Around them, people in white clothes and yellow or orange sashes stand waist-deep in the water, some with hands raised. Rows of oil lamps line the red stone steps, and a crowd gathers along the upper terraces. A candidate in the palanquin is visible, but his appearance is too uncertain to confirm.2010-02-12October 17 20102010-10-17Dusk at a water tank where a large black linga with floral garlands and a fountain stands on the left. Several men in white dhotis and shirts wade in the water, some holding a platform. On the right, a seated figure in orange robes and a rudraksha mala sits on a gold throne decorated with marigold garlands, flanked by attendants in orange, on a raised palanquin-like platform. Red-lit steps rise behind, lined with a crowd of onlookers in white. Floating petals cover the water. The seated figure resembles the a person in saffron robes, rudraksha and a throne, so the candidate is in_person; the scene shows abhishekam-style water ritual honouring the linga.2010-02-12July 26 20102010-07-26Aerial view of a large black Shivalinga rising from a pool of water, garlanded with marigold and green garlands, with water jets spraying around it.
