Others wear white dhotis and shawls. Small brass oil lamps, brass bowls, a kalasha-style vessel and offering dishes sit on woven mats and a red cloth in front of them. Several hold open papers and read or chant, while brass lamps, bowls and small offering vessels sit on orange mats in front of them. Figures in white dhotis and shawls sit at the right, and a few children and other devotees are visible in the background behind a metal railing. Six men sit in a line with palms pressed together in namaskar. The four on the left wear saffron-orange robes and the two on the right wear white dhoti-style cloth with red-striped borders, one with a shawl-like wrap. Several have white vibhuti tilak lines on their foreheads, and some wear rudraksha malas and gold bangles. Brass plates, small oil lamps and offerings are arranged on the floor in front of them, and a white-clad figure with a shaved head sits near the right edge.2011-08-04A photograph of a row of men seated cross-legged on the floor of a bare hall, in a ritual setting. They wear saffron-orange robes, rudraksha malas around their necks, and white horizontal sacred markings on their chests and arms, with some heads shaved. Brass and copper plates, bowls and oil lamps sit on red and orange cloths in front of them, with flower petals and fruit offerings. Smoke rises from incense or camphor near several of them, and some have hands pressed together in prayer. Behind the row, more people in orange and white are seated along the wall. No a person candidate is clearly identifiable from appearance.2013-01-13
