Most people wear white or light ritual clothing; some men wear white dhotis and shirts, women wear white and cream saris, and a few wear coloured clothes such as an orange top and a purple shirt. Several people in the foreground hold small items, and a few carry bags. A red-and-orange flag flies from a rooftop. Corrugated metal roofs of long sheds run across the foreground, with laundry hung on lines along their edges. Beyond them, a dense crowd of people in white clothes fills open ground between temporary tent structures and a wide dirt-and-gravel path. Several white vehicles are parked along the road at right, a water tower and palm trees stand on the horizon, and a tall speaker stack is visible in the centre. No individual figure can be singled out with confidence, and no one is identified.2010-01-01A large outdoor gathering on a dusty open ground in front of several cream-coloured multi-storey residential blocks under a pale hazy sky.
