A man in white dhoti with gold border and bare upper body stoops over a brick fire pit, feeding it with a ladle while flames rise from the offering. Brick altar is decorated with flower garlands. Behind, a framed portrait of a woman with a garland sits on a draped table with brass kalasha pots and a lamp. Three men in white shirts stand or kneel with palms pressed together in prayer, and one wears a rudraksha-style neck cord. Blue cloth covers the floor and a tiger-striped cushioned seat is visible at right. Four physical people are visible in the scene, including partially visible ones at the left edge.

A large open pavilion with a corrugated roof on bamboo poles, decorated with palm fronds and hanging leaves, holds rows of people seated on mats at small white square fire-pit platforms for a homa. Many participants wear white clothes; several women in white saris, one with a rudraksha mala, sit with brass bowls, plates and offerings before them. Banners hang along the far walls. The scene shows a mass fire-offering ritual in progress with many seated devotees.
