In the foreground, a bare-footed drummer in white dhoti and shawl holds a large frame drum, and beside him a musician in white dhoti plays a horn-like wind instrument while another white-clad drummer strikes a barrel drum. A man in white on the right plays a long wooden pipe (nadaswaram-style). Behind them, a decorated blue-canopied palanquin or ratha glows with lights, flanked by red and yellow umbrellas and trident-topped staffs. Crowds of devotees, children and women in red, orange, yellow and blue clothing walk alongside, some in saffron robes. A cloth banner and lit lamp hang above the procession.

Night procession at a temple-style street setting. On the left, a gilded canopied palanquin (ratha/chariot shrine) carries two deity murti draped in garlands of marigold and jasmine, one seated figure in white and gold; the palanquin sits behind a low white wall with potted plants. In the foreground, four men stand together: the front man wears a white dhoti, a saffron-and-cream shawl and holds a small hand drum; beside him a bare-chested man with a tilak holds a long wooden stick; a man in a white shirt and dhoti holds another stick; and at right a shaven-headed man in white kurta with a maroon-and-cream shawl holds a large barrel drum. Several other people in white and green clothes stand in the background under a dark arch. Drums and cymbal-like instruments suggest a procession with percussion accompaniment.
