Several drummers lead, including a man in white dhoti and yellow cloth beating a drum on his left and another man in white beating a drum slung over his shoulder. A man in a red shirt plays a long wind instrument, and a man in white on the right plays a horn-like wind instrument. Behind them, a group of saffron-robed sannyasis and white-clad devotees walk, some carrying decorated ceremonial umbrellas with colourful fringes and a striped red and blue canopy overhead. A white tent and stacked sacks stand to the right. Roughly twenty people are visible in the procession.2006-07-12Outdoor procession on a dirt road at an ashram-style compound. In the foreground a man in a white shirt and white dhoti with an orange border stands beside a woman in a grey-green sari with a maroon border, holding a long wooden staff. Behind them, men in white dhotis and white shirts carry ornate multicoloured parasols with orange and gold trim, and one carries a trident-topped staff. A man in an orange-brown shirt and white dhoti plays a hand drum. Low buildings, a green gate and trees line the background. No visible a person candidate in this scene.2006-12-30January 11 20172017-01-11A procession on a dirt road in front of a green-roofed shrine and a green metal gate. In the foreground, a man in an orange-pink shirt and cream dhoti plays a hand drum, and beside him a man in a white shirt and red lungi plays a drum with a yellow-fringed head. Behind them, three men walk in white and red-orange ritual clothing; one carries a small golden palanquin-style deity murti, another holds a small gold-coloured shrine, and another carries a long wooden staff. Men with white sacred ash marks on their foreheads lead the procession, and a palm tree and a red building are visible in the background.2013-04-03A photograph of a ceremonial procession lane at dusk, with a red carpet running down the middle of a sandy path. Rows of men on both sides play large barrel drums (thavil-style) with sticks. They wear white dhotis and white shirts, with orange or saffron shawls and sashes draped over their shoulders, and some have orange tilak marks on the forehead. Tall orange saffron flags on poles line the path and flutter overhead, with a low wall and green foliage in the background. The scene suggests a drumming procession welcome for a festival day.2008-12-29September 15 20162016-09-15June 07 20162016-06-07A photograph of a smiling man with a long swept-back hair style and white tilak markings on his forehead, wearing a red-orange shawl over the shoulder, gold-bordered saffron dhoti and a rudraksha mala with a large ceremonial necklace. Around him stand a large group of children and young men in orange, red and saffron robes with white forehead marks, many wearing rudraksha malas. Several hold curved brass horns (long trumpets) and two men on the right play large drums with cords slung over their shoulders. The setting is a paved courtyard beside an orange building with balconies and green palm and flowering shrubs. Probable Swamiji is the smiling man in the foreground, identified by the long hair, rudraksha mala and gold-bordered robe.2014-06-19A dusty dirt-road procession moves between trees under a hazy sky. In the left foreground a man with long dark hair and a flowing orange saffron wrap walks ahead of the group; a second orange-clad figure appears at right. Musicians in white dhotis and shirts play drums and a long wind instrument, including a man at centre right blowing a horn-like pipe. Other men and women in white, one in a red-and-white checked garment, follow behind. The long orange-clad figure at left has distinctive long hair and orange wrap, which is a person cue, but the figure is at a distance and the appearance is uncertain.2006-12-24
