Many shaved-headed monks have ash-white faces and bodies and wear orange dhotis and shawls, some with rudraksha malas. In the centre a long-haired figure in a deep red and gold cloth with a rudraksha mala carries a ceremonial staff topped with a trident-like finial, flanked by a golden parasol. Others hold brass horns, staffs and orange flags. A photographer on the right takes pictures. The scene suggests a ritual procession.2013-07-22A procession on a dirt road in bright daylight. A long-haired man in saffron robes and a white garland walks at the centre beneath a multicoloured fringed umbrella held on a pole. Around him, many men and boys wear saffron robes and orange shawls, while others wear white kurtas and dhotis. A saffron-clad bearded man and a shaved-headed man walk nearby, and a woman in a white sari with a gold border carries flowers at right. A yellow and red decorated banner on a pole stands at left. Bamboo scaffolding and tents line the road behind the crowd.2009-01-02November 16 20152015-11-16January 11 20172017-01-11December 31 20092009-12-31December 23 20082008-12-23A large outdoor procession of devotees in orange and saffron clothing walks past a red brick wall with small lamps mounted on it. Four ornate umbrellas in blue, red, purple and gold brocade with beaded fringe are held above the group. At centre, a man with a bare chest and an orange dhoti holds a tray of offerings or flowers, while another bare-chested man with a white headband and rudraksha beads walks nearby. Women in orange saris with rudraksha malas and white-clad men follow, carrying the scene forward along a path lined with trees and pink flowers.2017-01-07January 11 20172017-01-11A procession of many people walks along a dusty dirt road in front of a red-brick building under an overcast sky. Many marchers wear saffron and orange robes and have white-painted or ash-smeared bodies, with bare shaved heads. Some hold long brass trumpets and raised staffs, and a tall trident-topped staff is visible. A large ornate parasol with a white canopy rises above the group, and many orange flags wave in the air. Several men in white shirts walk at the right edge near a vehicle, and a young man in a white shirt watches on the far right. Raised hands and joyful movement suggest a festival or ritual procession.2013-07-22
