A woman seated center holds a bundle of sprigs and strips leaves; another on the left, in white with an orange-and-purple bordered sash, sits on a yellow cloth scattered with leaves. A woman on the right wears a white sari, a beaded necklace and a gold bangle, sorting greens into a large round steel tray. Shelves behind hold packets of grain and sacks, and bundles of stacked plastic sit in the background. Some women wear small identification badges on their saris.2012-04-06Four women sit on a yellow cloth in a tiled kitchen-like room, sorting and cutting fresh green leaves and stems on a flat metal tray. Each wears white clothes and a white hairnet. The woman at left in a white and gold-bordered sari picks leaves; the woman center-left in white with an orange-and-blue patterned border chops with a wooden-handled blade; the older woman at right in white with a gold border sorts leaves; a younger woman in the foreground with long hair and a white flower in her hair works over a bowl of green leaves. Red petals sit on a tray at left and purple drums and sacks line the back. This shows food or herb preparation work, not a discourse or ritual with a person present.2012-04-06Four women sit on a yellow cloth in a storeroom preparing herbs and vegetables. Three wear white cotton saris with gold borders, and one wears an orange-bordered sari; one has a grey hairnet with a white flower. A large steel tray holds green curry leaves, with bunches spread on the cloth and red dried chillies on a white sheet. Sacks, plastic bags, steel containers and shelves of packaged goods fill the background. Name badges are visible on some blouses.2012-04-06October 07 20062006-10-07Indoor scene of a seated woman in a white sari with an orange shawl and a red bindi, extending her right hand toward a standing person in white with a gold-bordered sari. On the floor sit a steel bowl of water, a steel cup, steel plates of green leaves and green chillies, a folded yellow cloth, a plastic bag, and a steel bucket with a handle. Leaves and stems are scattered over a floral cloth on the wooden floor. Pale blue floral curtains and a wall are in the background.2006-10-06January 08 20182018-01-08Two women sit on the ground stringing yellow marigold flowers into garlands on an orange cloth beside a steel bowl of loose blossoms. The woman on the left wears a white top and yellow shawl with silver-rimmed glasses and bangles, and holds a long yellow garland. The woman on the right wears an orange shawl, white blouse with green border sari and gold bangles, and threads flowers on a banana leaf. Behind them hang silver tinsel and a brass lamp stand, with a kolam drawn on the floor.2011-01-01Five women sit cross-legged on a paved ground stringing yellow marigold flowers into garlands. Several wear white or cream sarees and salwar-style white outfits, one in a cream saree with a gold border and a white name badge, another in white with a shawl over her head. One woman in a white top with a red-and-gold embroidered neckline sits at the front right, and a woman with a long braid in a white saree with red floral borders works at the lower left. Heaps of yellow marigolds and scattered petals cover the ground between them. Their wrists are adorned with gold bangles and some wear rudraksha-style beaded necklaces. The activity suggests flower garland preparation for a puja or ceremony.2009-12-29November 21 20152015-11-21 +1 copiesJuly 15 20152015-07-15August 26 20172017-08-26
