A night homa at an outdoor fire altar of stacked yellow clay bricks. A priest in an orange-red dhoti and shawl, with gold necklaces, bangles and white markings on his arms, pours offerings into the bright flames from a dark metal vessel. Behind him a tiered yellow fringed parasol stands beside a decorated kalasha and a silver-rimmed pot with a bowl of leaves. On the right a framed portrait labelled "Paramahamsa Nithyananda" shows a smiling man with a red turban and white flower garland, and a green-and-gold draped figure sits on the altar table.2014-01-05Night homa at an outdoor fire pit built of yellow-brown bricks, with a large flame rising from the stacked bricks. A priest in orange-saffron robes, orange head-wrap, gold beaded necklaces and bangles sits at left, hands extended toward the fire. Behind a tiered yellow fringed umbrella, a table holds green leaves, coconuts, brass pots, a kalasha and a deity figure draped in a green-and-gold cloth. A framed portrait at upper right shows a smiling figure in orange with flower garlands and a decorated head ornament. The priest is visibly the only person in the scene and the portrait is a printed image, so a person is none; no in-person or depicted candidate with sufficient cues is present.2014-01-05January 05 20142014-01-05January 05 20142014-01-05August 01 20142014-08-01December 10 20072007-12-10A large ceremonial fire burns in a brick-lined homa pit in front of a golden-framed shrine with a deity murti decorated with red-orange garlands and flowers. Two priests sit at left, one bare-chested in a red dhoti with a red garland, the other speaking into a microphone while gesturing. In the foreground a bare-backed priest in a yellow-green cloth pours or offers grains from a brass plate onto the brick edge of the pit. Brass oil lamps, kalasha pots and pink-patterned vessels surround the shrine. Metal barricades and onlookers in orange appear in the background. This appears to be a homa or yagna ritual with offerings.2016-05-15May 04 20142014-05-04July 16 20152015-07-16July 16 20152015-07-16Photograph of a fire ritual indoors. A sacrificial fire burns in a square pit of yellow bricks on a striped multicoloured mat, with a kalasha-style brass vessel and offerings nearby. A man in an orange-red sannyasi robe and matching turban, with rudraksha beads, stands at the fire holding a small flower and an oil lamp, while a second man in orange sits at the left edge. Behind them a seated figure in a red-brown robe sits before a gold ornate throne-like chair; the seated figure is not identifiable beyond this role. Two women in orange saris with prayer-folded hands stand at the right beside a wooden door frame. Marigolds and a magenta cloth-covered table with white-and-yellow decorated items complete the homa setting.2018-01-13 +1 copiesJuly 16 20152015-07-16
