A large deity murti is decorated for a festival, its face and head covered by a red-and-gold cloth and a dense crown of green leaves edged with yellow and red flower garlands. A gold ornamented crown-like headpiece with jewelled bands sits above the head, and the figure wears a white garment with a gold-threaded red border and a heavy gold waist ornament. Behind it, a white-clad seated figure in a dark red garment with a gold necklace shows a raised hand. Garlands of yellow and red flowers hang on the sides, and a brass oil lamp sits at the lower left. A dark-haired person's head is visible at the lower right, and orange-red fabric drapes the upper right. The scene is a deity decoration with floral garlands and gold adornments.2008-10-03A seated figure on an ornate golden throne is decorated with thick garlands of yellow marigolds and red flowers draped over the shoulders and arms. The figure wears an orange and maroon turban topped with a green leafy crown, a white garment, a multi-strand gold necklace of beads, a jewelled diamond-studded headpiece, and a gold waist ornament. The face is covered by the turban and garments, so no features are visible. A large white cloth lies in the foreground. Behind the throne are gilded panels and sculpted golden details. The setting suggests a ceremonial procession or darshan, with the seated figure presented as a deity murti or honoured person in jewelled regalia, though whether this is a living person or a statue cannot be determined.2008-10-04October 04 20082008-10-04October 04 20082008-10-04A photograph of an ornate temple shrine with a large gilded deity murti under a golden hooded cobra canopy, its face veiled in orange cloth and adorned with a green-jewelled crown, a long garland of yellow marigolds and purple flowers draped around it. Below sits a smaller white seated figure in red robes, right hand raised in blessing, with a red and silver backrest and beaded necklace. Brass oil lamps, bowls and vessels stand in front on the red-draped platform, while a white-robed attendant and a green-curtained gilded arch frame the scene. The figure wears a white ceremonial cloth draped over the seat and a gold-embroidered maroon sash, with a garland of yellow and purple flowers and red roses hanging around it. Behind, a large standing deity murti in orange and gold silk holds a trident and wears layered gold jewelry and a decorative crown with green stones.
