February 06 20172017-02-06Night outdoor scene on a paved courtyard with a long queue of people holding steel plates. In the foreground, a bare-chested elderly man with long white hair and a long white beard stands holding a stainless steel plate of food, with white and orange-streaked tilak on his forehead and a grey-beaded rudraksha-style mala and a pale peach cloth draped over a white dhoti. Behind him, devotees in pink, orange, green and checked shirts and saris stand in line with plates to receive annadan meal distribution, under string lights and trees near a red-walled building.2024-02-24July 07 20102010-07-07 +1 copiesAnnadhan during Nasik Kumbhamela 20152015-01-21 +1 copiesA photo of an elderly bearded man with long swept-back grey hair and a white tilak on his forehead, wearing an orange garment with gold and green borders, seated at a table and bringing food to his mouth with his right hand. A clear plastic water bottle with a blue label and a glass of water sit on a pink-patterned tablecloth in the foreground, with a steel plate and a folded white napkin nearby. A person in white clothing stands at the right edge, and stacked chairs and a metal truss structure appear in the dim hall behind. The man has distinctive long grey hair and orange saffron-style clothing, but his appearance alone is not enough to confirm identity, so he is described only by role as a seated devotee at a meal.2006-12-31A photograph of a bearded sannyasi seated in a crowd, wearing an orange saffron top and a pale yellow-orange shawl draped over his shoulders. His long grey hair is tied in a topknot, he has a white vertical tilak on his forehead, and he wears a beaded rudraksha mala around his neck. Men in white shirts and dark trousers sit beside and behind him, including a man with a red and white tilak on the right, and a small ID badge is visible on the lower right.2010-07-27Photo 11702269July 11 20102010-07-11Outdoor photo of a seated sannyasi in a deep orange hooded shawl over orange robes, wearing a long rudraksha mala and a small red tilak on the forehead, eyes closed in meditation on an orange cushion. Behind him, a brass kalasha-style vessel with a spout sits on a mat in the foreground, a stacked pile of firewood and ash-marked ground lie nearby, and tall coconut palms stand under an overcast sky. Further right, a man in white clothes with a yellow shawl sits on the ground near the ash patches, appearing to tend the fire area.2010-08-25September 15 20152015-09-15 +2 copiesJanuary 08 20062006-01-08A man in a saffron-orange shawl and robe sits cross-legged on a low wooden seat with eyes closed, hands resting in his lap, a rudraksha mala around his neck and a red tilak on his forehead. Behind him stands a black stone Nandi bull draped in a garland of yellow, red and green flowers, with stone deity sculptures and palm trees beyond. A brass kalasha sits at left on ash-covered ground, and a woman in white ritual clothes sits in meditation further back at left.
