Night photo of a homa in an open-sided shelter with a corrugated metal roof and string lights overhead. A small fire burns at left beside the fire pit, with brass and clay vessels nearby. In the foreground a shaven-headed man in a white dhoti stands with his back to the camera. Beside him, a man in an orange-saffron wrap stands near the fire. A woman in a white sari with a red border and gold trim holds a white and gold garland, and a blonde woman in a red shawl and white outfit stands with palms joined in prayer. A young man in white dhoti and shawl raises a green leaf or ritual item. Other participants in white clothes sit or stand on striped red, green and blue mats across the floor. A darker wrap and white ritual garments fill the background, with the mats and floor marked with kolam patterns.2017-04-28April 28 20172017-04-28April 28 20172017-04-28August 15 20172017-08-15 +1 copiesApril 28 20172017-04-28November 12 20102010-11-12September 14 20152015-09-14 +2 copiesA night-time photograph of an outdoor ritual gathering. In the foreground, a shaved-headed man in a dark red-brown shawl over a plain garment stands beside an older man in a white shirt with a red shawl and a rudraksha-style beaded neck cord. Behind them, several people in saffron-orange and white robes are bent forward or kneeling, one in a white dhoti with gold borders bending low over an object. Oil lamps glow at the left edge, and blurred figures in white and orange stand in the background near a dark pillar and a garlanded structure. The people are mostly in devotional postures. No clearly identifiable a person figure is evident in the frame.2015-07-07July 07 20152015-07-07Outdoor photograph at dusk of a ritual gathering with thick smoke rising from a fire pit in the foreground. A bald priest in white dhoti and a white shawl with red border, wearing a rudraksha-style bead necklace and a tilak on his forehead, stands at right holding his hands toward a man in white kurta who stands with palms pressed together at left. Behind them, several men in white clothing stand in the smoke, and a crowd of devotees in white and other colours stands beneath palm trees. Brass vessels, bowls and oil lamps sit on a mat in front, and a green palm frond is visible at the right edge. The priest's figure shows no distinctive a person cues beyond ordinary white ritual clothing, so identity is unsure.2010-09-05February 23 20172017-02-23December 22 20162016-12-22
