Several participants sit cross-legged on the ground behind low white brick fire pits, where flames rise from wood and offerings. In the foreground a woman in a cream sari with a red-and-gold circular badge pours liquid into a brass vessel near the fire. Beside her a man in white kurta and white dhoti with a rudraksha mala pours from a small vessel into a fire pit. Other seated devotees in white and colourful saris, a few with badges, continue the rites behind them, and a string of green lights and a red cloth canopy appear overhead. No one in the scene is identified as a person.2014-06-29 +1 copiesA tall fire rises from a brick-lined homa pit in the foreground, with a copper vessel and offerings beside it. A man in the centre wears a red-orange turban and a dark beaded mala, and tends the fire while holding a ladle-like implement. Behind him, several men in white dhotis and shawls sit in a blurred group, one wearing a dark mala and another a red head wrap. The scene reads as a fire ritual during a yagna. Any identification of a person is not supported by distinctive visible cues, so the role of the central figure is described as a priest tending the homa.2015-07-09Night ritual homa at a fire pit: a large flame rises from a stone fire pit as two men in white dhotis and shawls with red-and-maroon borders and rudraksha-style beaded necklaces make offerings. The man at right holds a silver plate and ladle, and another man behind the flame pours from a brass vessel. A small brass bowl sits in the foreground on flower-strewn cloth. No a person candidate is clearly visible; the figures are presented as priests performing fire ritual.2010-10-16July 06 20152015-07-06December 11 20152015-12-11October 16 20102010-10-16A night homa in progress at a ceremonial fire pit.
