A young priest in white dhoti and white turban, with rudraksha mala and white forehead markings, tends a flaming fire of wood and offerings. Behind and beside him, several men in saffron-orange robes with rudraksha malas and white markings sit around the fire, one holding a brass bowl. A bare-chested young man in white cloth with a rudraksha mala sits at the right, hands folded, and a fourth figure in white sits in the background. A shaven-headed man sits cross-legged on an orange cloth, wearing an orange robe, a gold rudraksha-style necklace of beads and a white and red forehead marking, and speaks into a microphone while reaching toward a flame. Brass and silver bowls hold offerings and wood sticks sit by the fire. Seated behind him, two men in white clothes sit with folded hands, and a third man in a red and white shawl sits on a chair nearby. Flowers lie at the edge of the frame. The orange-robed man's appearance is not clearly distinctive enough to confirm identity, so he is described only by role as a ritual officiant.2012-09-09November 07 20132013-11-07A night homa ritual beside a brick fire pit with a bright flame, lined with yellow-painted edges. Brass bowls of offerings, a bundle of sticks and a lamp sit in front. A young attendant in an orange turban and multiple malas holds a tray of herbs and offerings.
