A concrete utility pole leans in the left foreground, and a dark green shrub fills the right edge. Pale sky shows through the thin branches. No people or ritual activity is visible.2008-07-29January 06 20122012-01-06January 06 20122012-01-06January 06 20122012-01-06A wide daytime view of a large tent encampment on dry, straw-strewn open ground, with rows of pale beige conical canvas tents extending into hazy distance under a pale sky. Utility poles and wires run across the site, and a few small tarpaulin and tarp-covered lean-tos in yellow, grey and tan sit in the foreground. Scattered figures appear far off among the tents and near the lower edges, but no one is clearly prominent. Bamboo poles and frames support the shelters, and laundry hangs on a line at left.January 06 20122012-01-06March 03 20072007-03-03A dusty unpaved lane runs between white canvas tents and makeshift tarpaulin shelters at a temporary camp, with wooden utility poles and overhead wires along the route. Bundled bedding, folded cloth and scattered belongings lie on the sand beside the tents. Two men walk along the central path in the middle distance, one in a white shirt and brown trousers, another in a dark shirt, while a few other people sit or stand near the left-side shelters. The hazy sky and flat sandy ground suggest a large open encampment, with a small red-and-white sign visible far down the lane.2013-02-05
