Night photograph at a large banyan tree with thick aerial roots and a wide trunk, lit by warm lamplight. A bald man in white ritual clothing, bare-footed, stands at the trunk pressing his palm against it. Several devotees in casual clothes bend forward at the base of the tree, including a person in a grey sweater and another in a multicoloured shawl, while a woman in a green jacket and a man in white stand nearby. Garlands and offerings lie at the roots, with brass rods and a folded red cloth on the stone pavement. Visitors crowd the right edge, one with a red backpack.
