January 07 20122012-01-07January 07 20122012-01-07Outdoor photo in a cyclone-damaged village: a wire-mesh fence and a leaning concrete post in the foreground, with bare, broken trees and tall coconut palms behind. Several men in plain white shirts and white dhotis stand on bare dirt, some talking in a loose group; two older men sit on plastic chairs at left near a blue gate. Parked white cars are visible at centre. No ritual, saffron clothing or identifiable a person figure is evident, so no candidate is confirmed.2012-01-06December 31 20082008-12-31January 07 20122012-01-07A photograph of villagers queuing behind a wire mesh fence at an outdoor relief distribution in a flat, sandy area with palm trees, some of them stripped by a storm. In the foreground, an older man with white hair wears a brown shirt and a striped orange-and-white cloth over his shoulder; younger men in checked lungis and striped shirts stand along the fence, several with hands raised. On the right, volunteers in white dhotis and teal caps stand behind a table with a metal tub, serving food. A wooden board leans against the fence. Scattered sticks and debris lie on the ground.2012-01-06January 06 20122012-01-06March 22 20082008-03-22A photograph of a village lane lined with palm trees, banana plants and parked motorbikes, with a procession moving along the dirt road. Near the centre, a group of people in white and light clothing walks toward the distance, and a decorated palanquin or chariot topped with red, orange and green cloth banners stands above the crowd. In the foreground on the right, an older man in a white shawl and yellow dhoti stands beside a younger man in a white shirt and white dhoti, while a man in a dark jacket and jeans walks away from the camera. Overhead, electric poles and wires cross the sky.2015-05-01A photograph of an outdoor relief camp beneath tall coconut palms. A corrugated metal roof shelters a row of striped cloth awnings and tarpaulins over a wire-mesh fence and bamboo poles. Several men stand in the middle ground, including one in a white shirt with a light cap and a bright blue-green head covering, and another in a striped shirt and white cap. A woman in a green top with a blue-tinted umbrella stands at right. Dark bundles and containers are stacked along the fence at left, and a white vehicle roof fills the foreground.2012-01-07January 04 20122012-01-04A photograph of a storm-damaged coastal relief site beneath tall, wind-bent palm trees under a pale sky. In the foreground, three men stand beside a wire fence: a man in an olive-green shirt on the left, and two men in a dark blue shirt and a white short-sleeved shirt facing away toward the camp. A tall pole flies an orange flag bearing a dark circular emblem. Behind the fence are a corrugated-roof shelter with bamboo-pole supports, a white building, hanging cloth and clothing, and scattered debris on the ground.2012-01-07
