December 22 20122012-12-22A seated man in orange robes, gold beaded necklaces and long dark hair sits on a white upholstered throne with hands pressed in namaste, his bare feet resting on a gold tray of offerings. Around him devotees kneel on orange and red cloth in white clothes and yellow shawls; a kneeling man in white with a vertical tilak and a bald devotee in a rudraksha mala press hands together, and a woman in white and yellow stands at the side. Silver bowls holding apples and sweets fill the gold trays, and a microphone stands at right. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure wears orange robes, gold beads and long swept-back hair on the throne, and the event is a padapuja (foot-worship) ritual.2010-07-24A photo of a devotional seva scene in a courtyard. On the left, a seated figure in orange robes and an orange shawl rests hands on the arm of an ornate gold-and-red throne with a red cushion. In front, a woman in a white sari with an orange-pink shawl and vermilion forehead mark pours water from a steel vessel while kneeling beside a brass tray of offerings. Around them, devotees in white clothes with yellow and orange shawls kneel and sit, including a bald man in white and young women in white and yellow. A small brass oil lamp burns on an orange-draped stand in the background, with a red-and-white striped wall behind.2010-08-16October 15 20102010-10-15May 19 20132013-05-19October 06 20142014-10-06July 21 20152015-07-21December 22 20122012-12-22A photo of a padapuja-style devotional scene in a dim hall. In the foreground a woman in a red blouse and cream sari with a gold border, her hair pinned up, sits with her back to the camera, facing a seated figure draped in orange cloth and a garland of white flowers and red blossoms. A silver tray with lamps and offerings sits before the feet. A man in white kurta with a red cord bows low with head lowered. Two people on the right sit in white with orange lanyards; one has palms pressed in namaste. A golden lion-like carved figure and a dark throne are behind. Four physical people are visible, and the seated figure in orange is a candidate in a ritual of being honoured, with cues too limited to confirm identity.2012-12-22A man seated on an ornate gold and red throne wears an orange-saffron cloth draped over his body, a rudraksha-style bead necklace, a floral garland on his head and gold arm bands. Before him, seated women and a man in white clothes sit around a gold tray holding small brass dishes, flowers and a lit oil lamp, with hands joined in namaskar. A man in white and an orange cloth sits behind them, and a white tower fan and studio light stand in a dark hall with gold framed decor and a painted deity panel at right. Visible ritual setting: padapuja-style devotional offering, with an oil lamp and lamps on the gold tray.2012-05-01A padapuja scene in which devotees in white and gold-bordered clothing sit on a carpet before a golden throne. On the throne sits a figure in saffron-orange robes with a large red flower garland around the neck; the figure's face is cut off by the frame, so no identity is assigned. A bald elderly man in white kneels in front, a man in a white shirt with a white shawl offers white flowers at the feet, and women in white saffron-bordered saris sit with palms pressed together. Brass bowls with offerings, a silver bowl of red petals and a tray of fruit and sweets sit nearby, and golden lion figures flank the throne.February 01 20132013-02-01 +1 copies
