January 1st 2013Outdoors under a corrugated metal roof, a smiling person with long dark hair and red-and-white tilak stands beside a small fire pit with a flame. They wear a rust-orange wrap and a long necklace of red, blue and gold-yellow garlands, plus gold ornaments and bangles, and hold flowers and offerings in their hands. To the right, a deity murti is dressed in green and gold cloth with heavy gold jewellery and is decorated with red roses, yellow marigolds and purple flowers. Other people in saffron and orange clothes stand behind, including a shaved-headed attendant in a rudraksha mala.2015-01-04 +1 copiesA man in saffron-brown robes with a gold-bordered cloth stands holding a lit silver aarti lamp with a tall flame, wearing a thick necklace of red and orange beads with gold bead accents and red flower garlands.
